So I was down in Edinburgh at the weekend, for a friend’s epic party which was loads of fun. even if the guys kept soaking us with water pistols, don’t worry we got them back *evil grin*
and this was followed by a very brief holiday on the Isle of Arran, I was down for one day like, but I’ll hopefully be going back soon. They had PALM TREES there!! o.0 I have never seen palm trees anywhere near Scotland before, but Arran lies in the gulf stream…still palm trees!! It was lovely there!! though the blazing hot sunshine helped, it’s been so sunny and hot while I was down, it makes a nice change from the hailstones etc we’d been having the week before. and I got burned, not surprising really, even with constantly applying sun lotion, and thank gods I took my fan with me!
Also, the crossing to Arran has the smoothes boat journey I’ve ever been on! Admittedly I’m used to the rather less smooth Orkney crossings, but it was like the ferry never even left port, it didn’t roll at all. And the island is lovely from what I saw of it, reminded me of home, but warmer and stuff lol So I’d love to go back and see more of it, with any luck soon. :D
